Requirements:

Must have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate; math endorsement preferred

Must have an understanding of current instructional/teaching techniques and strategies

Ability to carry out procedures for student assessment in all academic areas

Ability to specify in behavioral terms the goals and instructional objectives which are appropriate to the skill needs of the individual student

Ability to set up and maintain conditions and procedures of instruction suitable to the learning goals set for the individual student
-
Ability to assess instructional outcomes and use this data in formulation of an ongoing instructional plan
-
Ability to use appropriate techniques with the student to help develop the self-management skills required for constructive social participation and independent learning

Ability to function as a member of interdisciplinary teams and maintain effective liaison with parents and others working with the student

Enthusiastic and willing to work with inclusion

Ability to organize and manage an educational environment, schedule for a group of students, understand the functions and role of the teacher as educational team leader and understand the role and function of related services personnel and aides

Demonstrates mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of this position
