Stubbs Elementary School
Description:
This
secretarial position is responsible for supporting Stubbs Elementary School.
Duties include:
- Performs typing assignments (i.e.,
correspondence, labels, reports, rosters)
- Composes correspondence as
requested by administrator(s)
- Schedules appointments & maintains up-to-date calendars for administrator(s)
- Receives, opens, prioritizes and re-directs mail to those who should take action and/or should be kept informed of its contents
- Responds to requests for information/assistance
- Maintains records and files
- Assumes responsibility for inventory,
ordering, maintenance of office supplies/equipment
- Operates appropriate office
equipment
- Receives, counts and secures money
and records transactions as assigned by the administrator(s)
- Assists the administrator(s) in
developing and preparing information and compiling reports
- Assumes responsibility for duties involved with student
attendance/reports
- Assumes responsibility for duties involved with staff
attendance/reports
- Assumes responsibility for duties involved with student
registration, withdrawals and data input
- Develops priorities, methods and
procedures for effective performance of duties and office operation
- Assists administrator(s) in
administrative tasks
- Performs September 30th Unit count
- Compiles and
prepares budget and payroll information, purchase orders, requisition forms and
other financial reports
- Trains and supervises other clerical
personnel, as required by the assignment
- Exercises good judgment and
confidentiality in conformance with District policy
- Performs secretarial duties, as
assigned by administrator(s)
- Responsible for supporting Stubbs in the Partnership Zone, which includes an extended school day
Qualifications:
- High
school diploma or GED
- Two years of applicable college or Business School education is desirable
- Demonstrates
good attendance record
- Demonstrates
effective written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of secretarial techniques and office procedures
- Demonstrates
ability to make decisions, to work under pressure, and to exercise good judgment, discretion and confidentiality in performance of duties
- Computer skills
- Proficiency in both written and oral English and proofreading
- Ability to coordinate workload to meet
schedules/deadlines
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and comprehensive knowledge of filing, accounting and record keeping procedures
- Demonstrates pleasant, cooperative attitude
- Possesses the ability to lift 50 pounds (with assistance)
- Must
be able to use arms and hands
- Must
report to work on time every work day, except as afforded by existing law
- Must perform all duties as
assigned during scheduled work days
- Test Performance Standards:
- Typing: 45 wpm
- Math: 62% success rate
- Proofreading: 60% success rate
Starting
Date: As soon as possible
Salary Range: Commensurate with appropriate salary schedule
