School District 59 employs 820 individuals on a full-time basis to complete its mission as a PreK-8 grade school system. The district covers 24 square miles and serves a population of approximately 75,000 residents. Located 25 miles northwest of the Chicago Loop, District 59 includes portions of the communities of Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, and Mount Prospect.
