Qualifications:

 

Required: 

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License or eligible for Colorado Teaching License
  • Elementary Education Endorsement

Preferred:

  • Exemplary classroom management
  • Exemplary organization skills
  • Kagan Cooperative Learning Training
  • Writing Alive or other writing program training
  • Strong reading, math and writing background
  • Willingness and ability to teach all academic content areas (reading, writing, math, social studies)
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a strong and ambitious school team environment
  • Willingness to work within the current Bessemer school mission, vision, and goals
  • Exemplary technology skills necessary for the school environment (i.e., Blackboard, Microsoft Word and Excel, Electronic ILP system, on-line gradebook, SuccessMaker Enterprises, ScholarsMart, Accelerated Reader, Mobi Document Camera, Smart Boards)
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for all levels and types of learners (i.e., learning modalities, multiple intelligences, ESS, ESL, GT)
  • Ability to work with a diverse, multicultural community
  • Small group reading instruction experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • High expectations for student achievement for all learners
  • Ability to use data to guide instruction
  • Ability to develop meaningful professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to implement the RTI process
