Technology Support Paraprofessional

Salary/Hourly Rate: Paraprofessional Class 6  $14.87 - $21.47

Schedule: 
8 hours/day, 5 days/week, student contact days only

Job Summary:
Technology Support Paraprofessional position provides support in the integration of technology into the classroom and the curriculum to support the teaching and learning processes.

This position will provide technology support to Hopkins North Jr. High, Transition Plus, Harley Hopkins, Pavilion, and ResourceWest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Provide support to students to effectively use technology and District resources.
• Works with appropriate staff in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software tools as applied to the curriculum.
• Works collaboratively with Technology Support Specialist and Media Specialist to maintain and support school technology resources.
• Troubleshoot interactive white boards and audio enhancement issues in the classrooms.
• Clean and maintain equipment used for technology based instruction, i.e. change bulbs, clean projector filters
• Support classroom technology needs as required.
• Assist Media Specialist and Media Paraprofessional in the daily operation of the Media Center.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Evidence of ability to prioritize, work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Expertise in the use of technology based teaching and learning resources (Google Apps, Course Management Systems, Microsoft Office)
• Demonstrates knowledge of new computer, video, communication, and web-based technologies.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively assist technology users.
• Maintain skills in computer software, including work processing, database, spreadsheet, web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, and image processing.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Minimum two (2) years post-secondary education required or ability to successfully pass the paraprofessional proficiency exam.
• Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning.
• Collaborate effectively with others.
• 1-2 years of successful experience using technology in the learning process.
