  Truancy Caseworkers serve as case managers for at-risk students, communicate with parents and interact with school personnel to improve attendance and academic performance of students.  Caseworkers also must be familiar with and able to connect students to community and social service resources available in Kankakee County.  Caseworkers may also be called upon to assist in classroom presentations of truancy prevention programs. 

Additional requirements:
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records and notes
