QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires
the ability to understand and follow both oral and written
instructions in an independent manner; read and write at a
sufficient level for successful performance of required
duties; effectively communicate in both oral and written form
with fluency in foreign language helpful; maintain routine
records and prepare reports; establish contact with students
and parents.
Requires knowledge of minority cultures and
heritage of local community and various services available to
the migrant and minority community.
Applicant must possess a valid California
Drivers License. Successful candidate will be required
to submit a copy of driving record issued by the State
Department of Motor Vehicles. Completion of the twelfth
grade is required. Successful experience and first-hand
knowledge in working with minority groups is
required.
This job class exercises responsibility for
the accurate investigation and resolution of attendance
matters and problems.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Work closely with
district administration to identify students who have dropped
out of school and to re-enroll students in applicable Kern
High School District programs. Home visits, community
meetings, and neighborhood canvassing are daily activities of
this job. Employee must establish and maintain record
of activities, home visits, meetings, student contacts, and
prepare necessary reports for program
evaluation.
This job classification is responsible for
providing information and communication links with minority
groups and must exercise initiative and possess communication
skills.
SALARY
RANGE:
$12.48 - $15.18 (hourly rate determined by
appropriate placement on salary schedule)
