Special Education Instructional Teacher

Description:

The teacher will provide instruction in basic curriculum areas for an LD/BD instructional special education class of grade 3 - 5 students.

Job Summary:

1. Provide instruction for a cross categorical special education instructional class of grades 3 - 5 students in basic curriculum areas.  
2. Work cooperatively with other classroom teachers, pupil personnel team, and complementary subject area teachers in appropriate mainstreaming for students.
3. Be responsible for assigned students, effectively teaching to meet individual needs, evaluating student progress, communicating progress/setting goals with parents and students, managing student cases, convening multi-disciplinary team meetings, and writing updated IEP's.

Qualifications:

Illinois Initial/Standard Elementary and/or Certificate with LBSI or other appropriate endorsements

Successful teaching experience is preferred
