JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: 1.0 FTE Secondary Instrumental Music Director
The preferred candidate will
possess the following qualifications:
1. Valid State Teacher
Certification Granted by the Professional Teaching Standards
Board.
2. Bachelor's Degree with major or
minor in Music Education (000JX)
3. Evidence of ability to
establish working relationships that result in mutual
respect.
4. Ability to speak clearly and
concisely both in oral and written communication.
5. Strong interpersonal and public
relations skills.

Building Principals
JOB GOAL:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide and guide
students to achieve musical expression and understanding
TEACHING PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
:
1. Works cooperatively with
administrators, student services personnel and teachers.
2. Prepare the band and other
instrumental groups for appropriate public performances in
keeping with the expectations of the school, principal, and
community.
3. Work with other band directors
in the school system to insure a continuous and correlated
development through all levels of band instruction
4. Publish and distribute a
calendar of Band Events that coordinate with all other school
events.
5. Maintains control of storage
and use of school-owned property.
6. Maintains professional
competence through in-service education activities provided by
the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth
activities.
7. Communicates with parents and
school counselors on pupil progress.
8. Participates in curriculum and
other developmental programs.
9.Work under supervision of the
principal, to raise necessary funds for financing the program,
soliciting and organizing parental and community assistance
where deemed necessary and advisable.
10. Work with the principal in
preparing a program budget.
11. Conduct field trips and
outside of school activities in accordance with Board
Policies
12. Other duties as related to
this specific job.
