12 - Vocal Music

• Valid Colorado Initial or Professional Teaching License or eligible for Colorado Teaching License
• Vocal Music or Music Endorsement
• Secondary Level or K-12 Level

• Strong understanding of and belief in "content standards"
• Ability to work with high school students
• Ability to teach a lesson to students in a classroom situation at South High School
• Ability to produce student performed musicals
• Strong coursework or background in music theory
• Background in vocal jazz for both mixed and female voices
• Ability to demonstrate adequate piano skills
• Willingness to participate in co-curricular/extracurricular activities
• Knowledge of and willingness to incorporate authentic assessments, team and interdisciplinary teaching, cooperative learning, and technology in classroom (computer literate)
• Demonstrated ability to work with multi-age grouping as well as developing individualized educational plans
• Demonstrated ability to work with parent groups
• Experience or coursework in multi-cultural awareness
• Strong but dignified classroom management skills
• Strong commitment to system change
• Strong evidence of being a "team-player"
