BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
To provide Early Childhood Special Education services to children ages 3-5 with developmental delays or disabilities and their families through an interagency, home, and community based service delivery model, and to ensure that the educational needs of the child are addressed.
The ECSE Home Based/Community Teacher will provide services to children and their families both directly and on a consultative basis.

The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and distribute brochures/posters to local agencies/businesses, coordinating with the local Interagency Coordinating Council members when possible.
- Promote the program throughout the community by contacting and addressing, formally and informally, various community and professional organizations/agencies. Obtain community funding, assistance and support.
- Responsible for intake duties (completion of necessary forms) and referring families to appropriate service providers. Responsible for coordinating necessary services through the development of an IEP. Ultimate goal being to provide services in a least restrictive environment as possible.
- Develop appropriate multi-disciplinary IEP’s in collaboration with the staffing team.
- Assist with the development implementation and monitoring of the individual education plan.
- Participate in professional growth activities.
- Facilitate students transition to an appropriate program.
- Meet regularly with other ECSE staff to collaboratively process cases and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Term of Employment: Teacher Contract
Salary Range: Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule.
Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
