Qualifications:

 

Required: 

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License or eligible for Colorado Teaching License

  • Secondary Science Endorsement

Preferred:
  • Ability to teach biology, Physical Science and Chemistry
  • Strong understanding of and belief in Colorado Academic Standards
  • Previous experience and ability to work with high school students
  • Knowledge of and willingness to incorporate authentic assessments, team and interdisciplinary teaching, cooperative learning, and technology in the classroom
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness to be involved in co-curricular activities
  • Previous experience and ability to work with multi-age grouping as well as developing individualized educational plans
  • Strong belief in a rigorous and relevant high school curriculum
  • Previous experience and/or coursework in multi-cultural awareness
  • Strong but dignified classroom management skills
  • Strong commitment to system change
  • Strong evidence of being a "team-player"
