Duties & Responsibilities:  (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

Salary:  will be determined by experience (2012-13 non-bargaining salaries to be determined yet, $62,758 was minimum for 2011-12)

·   Develop a rigorous PreK-12 curriculum for all students (including special education and English Language Learner)

·   Assure vertical as well as horizontal articulation of the curriculum

·   Annually update support documents and ensure printing and distribution.  This includes syllabi, pacing guides, academic vocabulary, etc.  

·   Monitor the implementation of curriculum and instruction

·   Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum

·   Collect and analyze district and/or building data to improve student learning

·   Develop and monitor district curriculum assessments including formative assessments, end-of-course exams, etc.

·   Develop and implement district staff development

·   Select and oversee distribution of curriculum and instructional  materials

·   Develop and support data driven instructional initiatives

·   Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum with respect to quality, fidelity, and consistency throughout all grade levels

·   Assist in the implementation of  the district Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

·   Meet with supervisor to formulate policy and develop long range plans

·   Assist in the evaluation of instructional personnel

·   Monitor/manage budgets

·   Initiate innovations that improve student learnin0

·   Foster district relationships with community and business

·   Write and manage grants
Terms of Employment:

·   205 days with 9 paid holidays with emphasis on summer work.
Reports to Director of Curriculum and Staff Development


Physical Requirements of Position:  (HBV   Yes   No)

·   Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.


Special Qualification Desired:  (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

1) Masters Degree and/or Administrative Certification

2) Content Area Certification

3) Five years of classroom experience

4) Expertise in curriculum development

5) Expertise in staff development and experience in facilitating adult groups

7) Technology skills

8) Evaluator Approval Training

9) Other qualifications as determined by the Superintendent
