QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in accounting or finance
Ø
Minimum of 5 years local school district business manager
experience
Ø
Knowledge of Michigan school finance and fund accounting
Ø
Ability to use independent judgment, flexibility and work
independently without supervision and maintaining deadlines.
Ø
Ability to handle confidential information and knowledge of the
privacy act.
Ø
Must be able to demonstrate skill with various business machines;
and business office software including window-based word
processing, mainframe data entry and spreadsheets (MS Office
preferred).
Ø
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with the public, school
personnel, staff and peers.
Ø
Experience processing payroll, accounts payable and accounts
receivable.
Ø
Knowledge of payroll laws.
Ø
Experience with tax levies and collections.
Ø
Ability to write school budgets and understand school revenue
sources.
Ø
Experience with building projects.
Ø
Excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Assist
local districts in the budgeting processing.
2.
Establishment of tax levies.
3.
Receipt of
and monitoring collection of taxes.
4.
Assist in
processing payroll and handling associated payroll
reporting.
5.
Audit
preparation.
6.
Monitoring
and reporting of use of bond funds.
7.
Monthly and
annual reporting.
8.
Bank
reconciliations.
9.
Collect
data, build and maintain spreadsheets for business office as
necessary.
10.
Prepare local, state and
federal reports as needed.
11.
Maintain cash flow statements
monthly.
12.
Other jobs as
