The Human Resource Office has declared the following job vacancy open.  It is intended that an F.C.M.D.S. Bargaining Unit employee only fill this vacancy.

 

JOB TITLE:  FOOD SERVICE CLASS III/Packer Substitute – SUMMER PROGRAM

                        SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PRODUCTION SITE – JOB #3 (Three positions)/2414

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


1.                  Ability to work cooperatively with other school personnel and students

2.                  Ability to read and comprehend information pertaining to food service operations (safety procedures, recipes, instructions and equipment directions)

3.                  Must be able to pass a basic math skills test

4.                  Ability to communicate in a positive and effective way with staff and students

5.                  Promptness and good attendance

6.                  Neat and clean in appearance

7.                  Ability to organize time so that work is completed by serving time

8.                  Ability to handle money

9.                  Ability to follow oral and written directions

10.              Must be self motivated and able to work independently with manager guidance

11.              Must be willing to try new products and procedures

12.              Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds repetitively

13.              Must be able to engage in repetitive bending, stooping and twisting motions

14.              Must be able to stand in one place for extended periods of time

15.              Ability to compute and write out production records

16.              Food Service experience preferred

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

1.                  Must be able to work in cooler for extended periods

2.                  Must be able to bend and lift repetitively

3.                  Count meal components and stock for shipment to Summer sites

·         Employee must be able to multi-task and work quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy with meal counts

4.                  Assist with the unloading of food deliveries and putting stock away

5.                  Assist drivers with daily loading of deliveries to sites

6.                  Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all storage areas

7.                  Any other related tasks assigned by the Summer Production Group Leader or Supervisors

 

LENGTH OF POSITION:  June 18, 2012 thru August 17, 2012

Employees are expected to work, when needed, all 9 weeks of the Summer Food Program. 

 

HOURS:                                 5 days per week; hours vary per day

                                               

SALARY:                              Per Summer Food Service wage scale

WHILE PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF THIS JOB, THE EMPLOYEE IS REGULARLY REQUIRED TO STAND IN ONE PLACE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME; WALK; ENGAGE IN REPETITIVE BENDING, STOOPING AND TWISTING MOTIONS; USE HANDS TO FEEL, FINGER OR HANDLE TOOLS, EQUIPMENT OR CONTROLS; TALK AND HEAR.  THE EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO REACH WITH ARMS AND HANDS.  THE EMPLOYEE MUST BE ABLE TO PASS MATERIAL HANDLING EXAM WITH AN AVERAGE LIFTING CAPACITY OF 50 LBS.  SPECIFIC VISION ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION INCLUDE CLOSE VISION, PERIPHERAL VISION, DEPTH PERCEPTION AND THE ABILITY TO ADJUST FOCUS.  THE EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO BE ABLE TO ENGAGE IN AND HEAR CONVERSATIONS IN QUIET AND NOISY ENVIRONMENTS.
