REQUIREMENTS:
A.
Education Level: High School
Diploma
B.
Certification or Licensure: NE Driver's License, Nebraska
Certified Pesticide Applicator (must hold or pursue at employee's
cost)
C.
Experience Desired: Minimum 4 years training or work
required. Requirements are experience in custodial,
electrical, welding and construction operations. A working
knowledge of light machinery -- vacuums, floor
scrubbers, carpet extractors, etc. is valuable. Must be
able to operate equipment such as tractors, snow blowers,
ditch-witch, etc.
REPORTS
TO:
Director of Buildings and Grounds
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
1.
Performs maintenance duties. Installs equipment. Repairs
structures, windows, doors, equipment, and furnishings.
Takes the initiative to perform routine responsibilities
independently.
2.
Keeps the Director of Building & Grounds informed about
ongoing activities/emerging issues.
3.
Works hours to fit district needs.
4.
Maintains open/effective communications. Uses
problem-solving techniques to address and resolve
questions/concerns.
5.
Helps the director develop short/long-range program
recommendations.
6.
Leads the district's Turf & Landscape Management program
which includes applying pesticides and herbicides to grounds
for the purpose of controlling weeds and pests on district
properties.

Designs a mowing schedule that provides for attractive and safe
areas for assemblies, athletic events and/or recreational
activities.
8.
Anticipates and replenishes consumable supplies to avoid work
schedule interruptions. Helps with the receipt of
deliveries. Inspects packages. Verifies quantities.
Ensures that supplies are labeled and stored
safely.
9.
Performs a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance
activities, e.g. carpentry, painting, mechanical for the
purpose of completing projects within established time
frames.
10.
Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the
purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
11.
Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting
activities, providing written reference and meeting mandated
requirements.
12.
Assures that new employees receive adequate job/safety
training.
13.
Assists in the conduct of training programs for all operational
personnel.
14.
Provide work direction, instruction, and planning of work for
others as needed.
15.
Performs related duties as required or assigned by the
Supervisor of Operations.
16.
Monitors work schedules for operational staff in each building
to assure that they are well balanced.
17.
Be part of the snow removal team by shoveling, plowing, and/or
sanding walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps.
18.
Assures that adequate safeguards are provided to prevent the
loss of school property through theft or pilferage.
19.
Performs related duties as assigned.
