Temporary/Hourly Position - 20 hours/week - No Benefits
JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITY:
Incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of the external AISD web site, FTP access accounts, server directory and sub-directory structure. Incumbent is also responsible for the construction of SQL, MYSQL and/or other ODBE compliant relational databases providing small but searchable web-based databases for the AISD external web site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Design, code, assemble and modify HTML documents. Integrate graphic images, graphic animations, PDF documents and banners.
*Create Perl and CGI scripts as necessary for the enhanced performance of the web site, including front-end and back-end scripts for relational databases, site traffic analysis and other web-related projects as needed.
*Generate and encrypt passwords for FTP accounts, maintain FTP access on the external server, assign new FTP accounts for AISD campus Webmasters.
*Coordinate and parse all incoming correspondence via the website to the appropriate departments, divisions, and/or other email accounts.
*Perform general web site maintenance including restructuring director trees and simplifying directories and subdirectories to shorten URL strings. Upgrade server software, security and download applications on a regular basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Knowledge of a specialized field in Information Technology, External Server Technology, and/or Web Technology. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to the development, maintenance, and/or administration of an external web server and/or information based web site is required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
*Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, Perl, CGI, SQL/MYSQL, TCP/IP, FTP, Apache Server software, SUN UNIX, or other UNIX required.
*Prefer knowledge of PHP, server security, streaming media, and graphics applications.
DUTY DAYS: 260 Days
SALARY: CP4: $23.40/hour
