Primary Purpose:

Assists with the district's utilization of the student database system by providing, support, information, reports, trainings for all users.

Qualifications (Experience/ Education/Certification):

High school diploma or GED and two years experience in a related field.

Major Responsibilities:

§   Provides end user support to the district's database systems including, but not limited to, student maintenance, grade reporting, scheduling, attendance accounting, special programs, discipline, historical data, test-scoring, health services, grade book and security applications; schedules and assists end users in the submission of application jobs and queries.

§   Assists with the development of training materials and programs; delivers training to end users to ensure an effective and efficient use of the software.

§   Develops queries and structured reporting programs for information processing requests and custom reports; downloads data queries into requested software for reporting and data analysis.

§   Assists the PEIMS coordinator with the submission of state required PEIMS data.

§   Provides support for campuses with long term absences in the registrar and student records specialist positions.

§   Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communication regarding pertinent activities; develops and maintains technical documentation related to assigned functions and responsibilities.

§   Participates in long range planning; attends professional growth activities; performs other duties as assigned.

§   Conserve electricity as outlined in the districts energy management plan

Special Knowledge/Skills:

§   Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Applications Suite.

§   Knowledge of database structures and design.

§   Knowledge of principles and techniques of computerized report writing and data analysis.

§   Knowledge of PEIMS data standards.

§   Knowledge of attendance, grade reporting, and scheduling procedures.

§   Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines and procedures.

§   Skill in working with various types of equipment including, but not limited to personal computers, fax machines, calculators, printers.

§   Skill in working with word processing and spreadsheet computer applications.

§   Skill in communicating effectively with others.

§   Skill in working in collaborative team based environments.

§   Skill in providing excellent customer service.

§   Skilled in maintaining confidential information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):

Maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged use of computer; repetitive hand movements; must be able to lift and/or carry at least 30 lbs.
