BA or BS from four (4) year college or university. Michigan teaching certificate, endorsement/approval in Emotional Impaired (SE).  Prefer candidates who are highly qualified in elementary and secondary education and teachers who have experience working with students with severe behavior impairments.  Teacher will teach both academic and social skills to Emotionally Impaired students considering such factors as physical, emotional and educational levels.  Confer with parents, administrators, psychologists, social workers and others to develop individual educational programs for students who are at different learning ability levels.  Instruct students in academic subjects utilizing current best teacing practices including the use of progress  monitoring and behavioral data associated with FBA/BIP's.  Schedule, participate in and/or conduct MET/IEPT meetings. Maintain a positive classroom environment utilizing positive behavior management techniques.  Assist with supervision of classroom paraprofessionals.  Supervise the planning, assigning and directing of work of paraprofessionals and other classroom staff as it relates to students.  Resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner, and work as a team.
