QUALIFICATIONS:

Current and valid MA DESE in Mathematics 1-
6
·
Three or more years of classroom teaching
experience.
·
Familiarity with Massachusetts Math
Frameworks.
·
Knowledgeable of components of balanced math and
various math assessments.
·
Interpersonal skills necessary to provide
professional development and coaching to building staff.

JOB
GOAL:
To provide leadership in math curriculum, instruction, and
assessment to building staff and to support staff in their
classroom practices.
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILIITES:
Curriculum
·
Provide explanation and support implementation
of district Math curriculum to staff.
·
Participate in the review and revision of Math
curriculum with the Assistant Superintendent of
Curriculum and Staff Development.
·
Facilitate a consistent building-wide scope and
sequence of math strategy instruction.
Instruction
·
Provide targeted, short-term direct service in
math to
identified students.
Professional Development
·
Provide modeling, planning, observation, and
feedback
to classroom teachers in all areas of balanced
math.
·
Participate in district-wide discussions around
math with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum
and Staff Development, K-8 Math Curriculum Coordinator, and
special education staff.
Materials
·
Oversee maintenance of a school "math center"
with leveled texts.
·
Assist in the ordering of math materials for
teacher and student use.
Assessment
·
Assist in the analysis of MCAS math assessment
results.
·
Participate in the development of Individual
Student Success Plans for all students in the "warning"
category on Math MCAS tests.
·
Provide assessment/diagnostic
information on the math levels, strengths ad needs of students
referred to team meetings.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Covered under
Framingham Teacher Association Contract.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated as per
Teacher
Association Contract.
