The Head Mentor will be directly
responsible to the OTA Facilitator.
Location
: Various Sites
Responsibilities
: (1) Must attend and conduct all required meetings: Attend and
participate at New Teacher Great Beginnings in August; Planning
meetings with OTA Facilitator prior to each scheduled 1
<sup>st</sup>
Year Teacher Meeting; Planning meetings with OTA Facilitator
prior to each scheduled Mentor Meeting; Conduct four 1
<sup>st</sup>
year probationary meetings per teacher's contract; Conduct two
mentor meetings; Conduct one late hire mentor meeting; Conduct
one mid-year check point mentor voluntary resource meeting; (2)
collect signed original mentor/protégé logs and deliver to OTA
Office for processing four times a year; (3) Collect evaluations
and sign in sheets at the end of each probationary meeting and
deliver to the OTA Office; (4) Communicate regularly with mentors
regarding protégé relationship; (5) Remind mentors regarding
protégé observations; (6) Provide informal support for mentors,
protégés, and the mentor/protégé relationship; (7) Work with
building principals, mentors and protégés along with OTA
Facilitator on issues pertaining to the Mentoring Program; (8)
Become a trainer of trainers for the 21
<sup>st</sup>
Mentoring Program; (9) Be available to train future mentoring
sessions if asked by managing administrator; (10) Submit a
self-reflection of being a head mentor this school year; (11)
Submit a head mentor log; (12) Any other duties related to the
mentoring program.
Requirements
: (1) Two years District Mentoring experience along with Training
in the current 21
<sup>st</sup>
Century Mentoring Program; (2) Trained or willing to be trained
as a mentor trainer; (3) Letter of recommendation from former
protégé.
Stipend
: Estimated $2,100 (to be paid at the end of the 2012-2013
SY-estimation is pending negotiated contract of pay per
hour).
