PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsibilities in the leadership, organization and
planning of all business and financial
related affairs of the district
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
1.
Member of the CCSD#47 Executive Council
2.
Serves on behalf of the Superintendent in his absence
3.
Supervises daily financial administration of the entire school
district
4.
Prepares and presents the annual budget and supporting
documentation
5.
Prepares and presents the annual tax levies and supporting
documentation
6.
Supervises the annual audit process
7.
Serves as the District administrative representative on the
Transportation Joint Agreement Board (TJA).
8.
Plans, develops and implements financial procedures and
processes in concert with Board of Education Policy
9.
Serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Education
10.
Oversees short-term investments on tax receipts
11.
Ensures that generally accepting accounting principles are
applied consistently throughout the district.
12.
Prepares and presents long-term financial analysis to the Board
of Education
13.
Supervises the completion of all state and federal financial
reports
14. Works
with the District's Bond counsel to manage long-term debt and
bond rating
15.
Collaborates with other governmental bodies on issues that
financially impact CCSD#47 (TIF, developer impact, boundaries,
annexations, etc).
16.
Facilitates the completion of an annual performance audit of
the Business Office, Informational Technology Office,
Transportation and Food Service and makes recommendations for
improvement to the Superintendent of Schools
17.
Provides the Board of Education with updates and/or
recommendations regarding performance on initiatives, projects
and processes in the Business Office, Informational Technology,
Transportation and Food Service.
18.
Serves as a D47 administrative representative during all
contractual negotiations
19. Works
in consultation with the Superintendent to develop and execute
hiring processes for all administrative positions in the
district per Board of Education expectations
20.
Chairs and/or serves on district committees as assigned by the
Superintendent
21. Works
in consultation with the Superintendent to administer the
annual certified staffing plan; anticipate long and short terms
staffing needs of the district
22.
Assists in the development of the Board agenda; attends Board
meetings
23.
Communicates and supports Board actions to staff, students and
public
24.
Actively works to develop positive public relations within the
Crystal Lake community
25. All
other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of
Schools.
