Nature and Scope of Job:
The Technology Specialist I provides technical assistance and support to all school district staff in the operation of various technologies (hardware, software and peripherals). The Technology Specialist I must establish good rapport with all individuals in each building and also convey a cheerful, helpful tone on the telephone. The Technology Specialist I must be able to juggle routine tasks while making critical decisions about technology emergencies. Basic technology, communication and office skills are necessary to perform such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District Technology Director or other Administrators, and to do the following:
Job Functions
Essential Functions:
1. Maintain and support new ans existing hardware and software installations.
2. Upgrade and format computers with appropriate operating system and application software.
3. Troubleshoot new ans existing hardware and software problems.
4. Provide technical advise to support staff in reference to the district adopted computer applications.
5. Audit district licenses software and stand alone software applications on client machines.
6. Provide assistance to the District Technology Director, Technology Specialist II, Network Manager, Technology Secretary and TAIM Reps.
7. Set up computer equipment within various buildings to assist with daily work, various trainings, meeting and conferences.
8. Must have own vehicle for transportation of equipment, technology and curriculum resources.
9. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Other Functions:
1. General knowledge of office practices, including: filing, operating various office machines, i.e., copier machines, various types of computer, etc.
2. Typing letters, memos, correspondence (teachers, staff, district personnel), guides, etc.
3. Scanning and printing the reports.
4. Travel to local and outlying schools.

Minimum Requirements (Education, License, Certification, Experience or Formal Training):
High School Diploma
Preferred Post-secondary technical training
Preferred experience troubleshooting Mac and Windows based computers
Basic knowledge of Mac OS X and Windows XP/7
Basic knowledge of Pages, MS Office Products and Internet Browsers
Proficient with integrated software packages
Working knowledge of the internet and electronic mail
Valid Wyoming Driver's License
