Description: Outdoor Adventures Guide - Trailblazers Program
Job Summary: The Trailblazer Program is a two-week program for children ages 10-13. The goal of the program is to teach children basic outdoor living skills all the while developing an appreciation for outdoor recreation. An Outdoor Adventure Guide instructs a group of children in a specific outdoor adventure activities throughout the camp day. This position requires a person to have knowledge in a variety of outdoor skills: hiking, biking, camping, fishing, orienteering, team building, boating, and general group management. Instructor is responsible for planning and teaching their specialized activity program with a progression of skill building as the goal. Must be able to manage activity schedules. Daily tasks include set-up/put-away of activity equipment, transportation assistance, and communicating with campers, staff and parents.
Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age and demonstrate proficiency in the specific activity they wish to lead. The applicant must also have experience leading groups of children.
Working Conditions: Outdoors, active instruction and involves set-up and put-away of equipment each day. An overnight camp-out experience is required at the end of each session.
