Position:

The Needham Public Schools seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Guidance Counselor at the 7th and 8th grade Pollard Middle School.


Description:

Opening for full time counselor at the Pollard Middle School, a 7th and 8th grade middle school.  The Pollard Middle School counselor will provide counseling services, both individual and group, for students in areas of school adjustment, peer issues and mental health concerns.  This counselor works closely with all teachers, special education staff and administrators providing consultation and support in areas of behavior, emotional needs and school adjustment.  The counselor also provides parent support and guidance through cluster meetings, one on one parent meetings and school based programming.  Ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of staff and parents is vital.


Qualifications:

  • Master degree in counseling/social work
  • Counseling experience with middle school age children
  • Skills in Counseling and parent support
License:
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a School Guidance Counselor, Social Worker or School Adjustment Counselor.
