currently has an opening for a Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Early Childhood Teacher/Bilingual Itinerant Teacher. This
position provides resource and diagnostic services, instruction
in English language development, and native language
instruction to second language learners.
The ideal candidate will:

Screen all students entering with
Spanish and other language backgrounds
·
Plan and deliver English/Spanish
language development programs for eligible students
·
Assess the progress on a regular
basis and provide progress reports as needed
·
Confer with parents and teachers
concerning individual students
·
Assist the diagnostic teams to help
determine the needs of the students
·
Consult with classroom teachers
regarding curriculum modifications necessary to meet the needs of
the second language learner
·
Maintain records on program
students
·
Maintain and improve professional
competencies by attending workshops and conferences
·
Attend staff meetings at building
and district level; serve on district committees as needed
·
Assist in curriculum planning and
instructional delivery as needed
·
Provide staff development and
parent education based on building and district needs
·
Translate and interpret on an
as-needed basis
Requirements include:
·
Type 04 teaching certificate
·
Bilingual endorsement or Type
29
·
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills in Spanish and English
·
High level of organization,
flexibility, creativity, and cooperativeness
·
Early Childhood Special Education
preferred
