Full-time Maintenance Mechanic's Assistant (days-40 hours/week)
Responsible to: Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications:

High school graduate
-
Valid Illinois Drivers License
- Stationary Engineers License (preferred)
- Refrigeration License Class 3 (preferred)
- Forklift Drivers License (preferred)
Performance responsibilities:
§ Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of 460V and 208V (3 phase), 277V and 110V power systems; trace, install and repair various electrical circuits
§ Install, maintain and repair pipes, flush valves and faucets, including threading pipe and rodding drains
§ Read and interpret blueprints
§ Operate and perform routine maintenance on school vehicles
§ Assist in the assembly and installation of equipment and furniture
§ Clean coils, change filters, replace belts and lubricate parts of HVAC equipment
§ Serve as one of the maintenance team members in opening and closing the building and reporting to security
§ Install fluorescent tubes and ballasts
§ Operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools
§ Assist in snow removal and salting of sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots
§ Assist in furniture set-up and take-down in program areas and for special events
§ Perform other duties as assigned
