CUSTODIANS PART TIME SUMMER - CLUB CARE PROGRAM

(Temporary Positions)

6/13/12 - 8/17/12

Bluff Creek Elementary, Clover Ridge Elementary, Chaska Elementary

Jonathan Elementary, Victoria Elementary, Chanhassen Elementary

Monday through Friday

2.75 hrs/day (3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)

$12.00 per hour

Clean area that club care uses on a daily basis

Responsible To:    Custodial Supervisor//Night Lead Custodian/Building Principal

 

Position Purpose:   Maintain building in a state of cleanliness and order.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

·          Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and practices involved in custodial maintenance

·          Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions

·          Evidence of an understanding of the school culture and environment, and a commitment to carrying out the vision, mission, and belief statements of District 112

·          Personal dependability and responsibility

Physical Requirements:                 -  Lift 70 lbs waist height occasionally

                                                                -  Lift 50 lbs to chest high regularly

                                                                -  Extended walking

                                                                -  Ability to work with cleaning chemicals

                                                                -  Must be in good general health

       Preferred Qualifications:   -  Previous experience in cleaning and building maintenance

                                                     -  Appropriate licensure

 

Summary:   Under general supervision, perform cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; and perform related work as required.  Daily attendance is required.

 

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:   This position is posted as a par t- time (13.75 hours per week), summer position,  Monday through Friday  (see times listed above).  Starting salary for such a position is $12.00 per hour.  Not eligible for benefits.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills

Cleaning/Maintenance

n   Ability to recognize hazards and take safety precautions to eliminate them or report to supervisor

n   Clean building on a regular basis so that the building provides a safe, healthy, and professional environment

n   Responsible for keeping walkways free from obstruction and in safe condition (e.g. ice removal)

n   Clean bathroom, kitchen area, commons and any classrooms club care uses

n   Secure building at end of shift

n   Personal dependability and responsibility

n   Ability to follow directions

n   Ability to adapt cleaning schedule with building events

n   Ability to read and follow label directions

n   Simple math including proportion and ratio work necessary tin creating cleaning solutions

n   Regular attendance

n   Evidence of an understanding of the school culture and environment, and a commitment to carrying out the vision, mission, and belief statements of District 112

 

"Set up" for evening events

 

 

n   Gymnasium preparation/cleanup for co-curricular events

n   Auditorium preparation/cleanup for co-curricular events

n   Assist instructors of evening classes in set up of equipment

 

n   Flexibility

n   Ability to follow direction

n   Ability to work with people

n   Communication skills

 

Enforcement of Health/Safety Policy and Procedures

 

n   Carries out cleaning using proper cleaning practices

n   Follows the guidelines for chemical use as per "right to know" instructions - including proper storage of chemicals
