Media Literacy Studio Manager/Teacher
length of work year: 209 days
7 1/2 hours per day with 1/2 hour for lunch
Job Responsibilities:
Manages the media literacy studio lab at Summit High School. Responsible for working with students, faculty, and staff coordinating programs, public information, professional learning, budget and technical management of the media literacy studio. In addition, must prepare video projects for broadcast on our public access channel and maintain quality control of televised programs. Teaching one (1) media course.
Skills needed:
A New Jersey teaching certificate in the area of television production.
Knowledge of digital television studio equipment.
Knowledge of quality control procedures for broadcast television.
Ability to produce quality productions.
Ability to make minor repairs and maintain servicing of equipment.
Understanding of the MAC platforms and is familiar with Windows.
Knowledge of current software programs.
Experience in the area of studio and field production.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with teachers and students at the high school level.
Ability to maintain confidential student information and student records at all times.
Is responsive to direction from administration.
Demonstrates interests and aptitude in working with students.
Ability to work positively and effectively with high school students and supervise crew.
Ability to work positively and effectively as a staff team member.
Ability to be organized and take responsibility for video productions.
Ability to responsibly represent Summit High School Television to community.
Has a professional manner and attitude.
NJ Audio-Visual Broadcast Production Technology Certification required
