Intervention Specialists Mild/Moderate - Inclusion and
Learning Lab and Resource Room
These positions are available beginning with the 2012/2013
school year.
*Dual Certification (preferred): Intervention Specialist
(K-12) Mild/Moderate
AND
Mathematics (7-12)
or
Intervention Specialist (K-12) Mild/Moderate
AND
English/LA (7-12)
Reading Endorsement (K-12) also preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
1.
Appropriate teaching certificate or license required.
2. Strong undergraduate grade point average - (preferable
above 3.0/B average) from the institution granting the bachelor's
degree.
3. Demonstrates understanding of transition service
plans.
4. Training and/or experience to serve the special
individual needs of students who qualify for special education
services, must be highly qualified in Science, Math, Social
Studies, and Language Arts for grades 7-12.
5. Demonstrates knowledge of research supported
intervention strategies.
6. Ability to implement behavior plans and behavior
modification strategies.
7.
Willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in an
inclusion setting.
8.
Experience writing measurable IEP goals and using a variety
of data to document progress toward goals.
The person selected to fill this position will be placed at
the appropriate step of the salary schedule contained in the
negotiated agreement between the HEA and the Highland Board of
Education.
