JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
This position provides professional and technical support and training in all aspects of secondary scheduling. Serve as liaison between campus scheduling teams and central office departments in the implementation of Austin Independent School District (AISD) initiatives relating to campus master schedules. Review campus master schedules throughout the school year to ensure that data integrity is being preserved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Integrate recommendations based on District initiatives within the structure and capacity of the District’s student software system and state reporting needs.
*Provide technical support, guidance and training throughout the year for new users and experienced personnel on creating and loading master schedules using the District’s Student Information System applications.
*Consult with supervisor regarding need for user meetings to identify and solve scheduling issues, concerns, and problems. Make oral or written presentations to Principals, central offices administrators, and campus
staff as required.
*Prepare documentation and training materials and conduct training sessions for campus scheduling teams and student systems support personnel.
*Develop District scheduling timeline and communicate with Central Office support departments to coordinate scheduling timelines and training sessions.
*Identify and validate required secondary scheduling data for state PEIMS reporting.
*Provide information and solutions to problems and/or questions related to the use of the Student district software in supporting district-wide initiatives
*Assist in conversion of data between systems, as necessary
*Consult with campus and/or central office users to develop alternative solutions regarding administrative policy and change/enhancements to district software.
*Assist in planning for training, creating training materials, and either conducting both campus and district wide training or facilitating training conducted by an outside resource.
*Coordinate with other Information Technology staff to resolve problems that involve their specific areas/products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, or successful completion of a support level certification class conducted by the vendor of the current AISD student information system.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) or more years of experience in secondary campus scheduling support and end user training, including knowledge of the current AISD student scheduling system
and PEIMS reporting as relating to student schedules is required. Incumbent must have broad knowledge and expertise in building and loading master schedules for a variety of scheduling schemes (i.e. block
scheduling, a/b rotations, teams, Smaller Learning Communities) in the current software system.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
*Excellent written and oral communicate skills.
*Ability to prepare documentation and train campus users and administrative staff in current AISD scheduling applications and processes.
*Knowledge of computer network and personal computer equipment, operating procedures, operating and software systems, and of the principles, practices and techniques of analysis and problem resolution.
*Ability to maintain confidential information dealing with campus and district personnel and students.
*Ability to maintain a pleasant attitude and have the ability to work with people effectively.
*Ability to efficiently manage time and resources in completing assigned tasks.
*Working knowledge of PLSQL Developer, or comparable tool, in order to analyze data related to campus schedules.
DUTY DAYS: 260 Days
SALARY: CP5: $52,000 - $70,000
Salary determination will be based on documented experience.
