8 HRS/DAY, 52 WEEKS/YEAR

SALARY:  $47,800/yr

Responsible To:   Principal Integrated Arts Academy

 

Position Purpose:   To work with staff, students and families to implement prevention and restorative practices to improve the school environment, enhance learning, and encourage young people to become more responsible and empathetic.

Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:   See Reverse Side

 

Required Qualifications:                 B.S. in youth development or related field.

                                                                Certified "restorative circle" facilitator/trainer, community panels  

                                                                Training and knowledge of ATOD

                                                                 

Preferred Qualifications:                Certified facilitator for Restorative Group Conferencing

                                                                Trained in Restorative Measures in Schools

                                                                Trained in VOD 

                                                                Trained in VOCARE

Experience working with SRO

Trained in Motivational Interviewing & Positive Inquiry training

 

Benefits of Employment as of July 1, 2012:   This position is posted as a full time (40 hours per week), twelve (12) month position.  Eligible for benefits as negotiated with Professional and Technical and District 112.  This position is not eligible for overtime or comp time.

Provide restorative practice methods and models for schools to improve school environment, enhance learning, and encourage young people to become more responsible and empathetic.  

 

 

 

Work with teachers, administrators, students, parents, SRO and community to promote positive behavior and growth.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maintain strong partnerships with SRO, schools and community

 

 

 

 

 

 

Develop and maintain positive communication with staff, students and parents.

 

 

 

 

 

Support staff knowledge of current trends and data around ATOD

 

 

 

Other duties as assigned

 

n   Provide leadership for the implementation of  restorative practice

n   Implement a comprehensive orientation and training for all staff

n   Facilitate restorative interventions

n   Sit on the  intervention team to identify needs

n   Offer skills training to students

n   Create partnerships with SRO and school administrators

 

n   Develop parent relations

 

n   Respond to parents concerns and issues

n   Develop a student advisory group

n    Address and support individual needs of children and  families 

 

n   Provide support and training to staff and parents around ATOD issues and concerns

n   Work with the District Chemical Health Coordinator

n   Refer students to appropriate support for ATOD related issues as appropriate.

 

 

n   Ability to plan for and access resources for staff development

n   Ability to see potential in all staff and use them most efficiently

n   Leadership and facilitation skills

n   Knowledge of District 112 educational philosophy and guidelines

 

 

n   Knowledge of other Community and District 112 programs
