Special Education Teacher - Learning Disabilities
High School - 1.0 FTE
Description: Work in a 9-12 grade high school providing academic service to students identified primarily as LD and OHD but other disabilities categories are represented in low incidences. Job Summary: Provide instruction in supplanted academic courses for those students with academic needs. Work on an evaluation team with both initial assessment and re-assessment of students that are in need or may be in need of special education service. Qualifications: The successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and current Minnesota State Licensure in Learning Disabilities and individuals with other special education licensure will be strongly considered. Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students; effectual planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with high school level students using differentiation, guided reading, and technology skills preferred. Prefer candidate with experience working with diverse learners. Experience with reading and math instruction and formative assessments. Experience with assessment of students that may require special education services is required. Working Conditions: Work in both pull-out and inclusive environments.
