Family/Consumer Science Teacher

Description: 

The West High FACS department offers 11 courses from Child Development to Hospitality/Restaurant Foods.  In addition to a bachelor's degree in Family/Consumer Science, applicant must be able to obtain teaching licensure in the state of Iowa. 

Qualifications: 

• Iowa Teaching License required
• 5-12 Home Ecconomics endorsement required
• Interested applicants must be willing to adapt to a progressive school environment and integration of new technology
• Demonstrate ability to collaborate with peers
• Background in science is desirable.
• Demonstrates effective research-based teaching strategies
• Demonstrates competence in classroom management
• Demonstrates ability to differentiate instruction
• Aligns classroom assessment with instruction
• Creates classroom culture that supports learning of every student
• Experience working with diverse cultural population
• Works collaboratively with peers
