Preschool Assessment Technician and Clerical Aide

QUALIFICATIONS:
A.
High School Diploma.
B.
Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be
performed.
C.
Ability to follow standardized test directions
and operate computerized scoring of the tests.
D.
Strong organizational skills.
E.
Competence in intermediate computer skill;
i.e. e-mail, word processing, etc.
F.
Must have own transportation; mileage will be
reimbursed by the district.
G.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the
public.
H.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications
as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Services.
IV.
JOB GOAL:
To support the delivery of School
District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum
and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To administer individual achievement tests at the Direction of
the School Psychologists and to do observations to enable the
Psychologists to identify those students eligible for
services.
V.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.
Attends preschool department meeting and
provides clerical support.
B.
Maintains electronic databases for
preschool.
C.
Will assist and support with the Infant
Toddler process.
D.
Administers individual achievement tests in
accordance with the training provided.
E.
Conducts assessment procedures in accordance
with the training provided.
F.
Performs observations as requested by a school
psychologist.
G.
Operates computerized scoring of the test
instruments.
Prints assessment results using software programs designed to
score tests.
H.
Maintains professional conduct and
appearance.
I.
Strives to improve and maintain job skills
through training and inservice as directed.
J.
Organizes and implements screening and
evaluation schedules.
Prepares for two evaluation teams and prepares BDI evaluation
kits.
K.
Makes phone calls and/or sends letters as a
reminder for screening and/or full evaluation
appointments.
L.
Prepares consent and authorization forms,
files, and other required paperwork for screenings and
evaluations.
M.
Forwards speech screening information to the
Speech Language Pathologist.
N.
Schedules additional testing as needed.
O.
Ensures the contact log and tracking record
have been updated.
P.
Prepares completed test files for Early
Childhood Specialist by gathering information, preparing cover,
and entering scores for use in the Eligibility Report.
Q.
Compiles Medicaid information, and prepares
forms for signatures.
R.
Prepares compliance file.
S.
Maintains a filing system for those not
qualifying for preschool.
T.
Checks records against SASI and sends records
out to the schools.
U.
Completes all paperwork as assigned.
V.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior
and confidentiality.
W.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
VI.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
VII.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position scheduled for 7 hours per day
during the school year. Benefits will be in accordance
with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance
with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 3 to 4 - $10.05
to $11.28 per hour depending on experience.
This is an "at will"
position in that the employer or employee may terminate
employment at any time or for any reason consistent with
applicable state or federal law.
The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or
in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in
writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of
District 91.
VIII.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be
evaluated annually by the Director of Student Services in
accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of
classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall
physical classification of light duty.
