JOB SUMMARY
:
The tutor provides academic
support in English language arts, math, social studies and
science for eligible students. Tutors must possess a
demonstrated knowledge of content areas.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for managing and
maintaining accurate student records
2. Responsible for providing and
delivering academic support services to eligible
students
3. Responsible for participating
in scheduled Professional Development activities
4. Responsible for evaluating
student academic progress
5. Responsible for serving as
liaison between the coordinating office and school sit where
assigned
6. Other duties as
assigned
PREPARATION, TRAINING,
EXPERIENCES AND EDUCATION:
1.
Current Michigan teaching certificate,
preferred
2.
Bachelor's Degree - with an emphasis in
appropriate core academic subject area, preferred
3.
Must have A) completed at least two years of
study at an institution of higher education (60 Credits); B)
obtained an associate's or higher degree; or C) achieved a
passing score on a MDE approved assessment required
4.
Demonstrated knowledge of content area
5.
Experience in curriculum planning
6.
Demonstrated ability to deal with students,
parents and the public
7.
Demonstrated ability to respect the
confidentiality of student information
