Chinese Language Teacher
Location: Irondale High School & Mounds View High School
1.0 fte (.4 Irondale and .6 Mounds View)
The specific duties of the position of Chinese Language Teacher for the Mounds View and Irondale High Schools include: 1) conduct classroom instruction and individual tutoring in Chinese Language and Culture to grades 9 – 12, 2) assess student performance to determine the need for re-instruction, alternate teaching methods, and grades, 3) create, formulate, develop, and implement instructional activities and objectives for learning, 4) diagnose, summarize, and interpret student strengths, weaknesses, and problems for reports to parents and other school personnel, 5) create a supportive learning environment by using appropriate verbal and non-verbal reinforcing techniques, 6) communicate and collaborate with staff to assist in determining and coordinating standardized curriculum, testing, and assessment designs.
This position, as well as all of our teaching positions, minimally requires a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Education or a related field and a current Minnesota Teaching License in the appropriate content area. This position requires a Minnesota Teaching License in Chinese and fluency in the Chinese language.
