School District 54 is the largest elementary school district in Illinois with 27 schools and more than 14,000 students from seven communities: Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg and Streamwood.
The district is committed to meeting the needs of all its children with a strong history of award-winning early childhood programs and an emphasis on fostering appreciation, understanding and respect for diversity. The district serves more than 900 limited English proficient students who speak 30 different languages.

Site-based management is being undertaken through school leadership teams comprised of principals, teachers and parents who analyze demographic data and test score results of their students and use the information to define the vision, goals, programs and assessment practices for their schools.
Our nearly 1,100 teachers are supported by social workers, psychologists, technology facilitators, gifted resource teachers, literacy coaches and other specialists who assist them in meeting the students’ needs.
District 54 has a strong Parent Teacher Association at every school and many business partnerships that provide unique learning experiences.
