The primary purpose of this position is to increase district implementation efforts and student success by providing appropriate support of students, parents, schools and and districts.   This position will also assist in increasing awareness of IDLA programs, activities, and accomplishments, specifically in relation to online asynchronous classes, Blending Learning, advanced placement/dual credit courses and educational programs serving at-risk and remedial students. This person will be responsible for developing relationships with area schools, site coordinators, district technology coordinators, counselors, parents, students, teachers, administrators.  Excellent communication skills are essential as the position entails extensive presentations and public speaking with school counselors, administrators, students, and parents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating professional development for district personnel.   Frequent travel throughout the region and state is required to fulfill responsibilities of the position.

 

 



Minimum Qualifications

  •       Current Idaho Secondary Certificate
  •        A minimum of 3 years experience in classroom or online teaching
  •        Knowledge/experience in online education is desired
  •        Superior technology skills
  •        Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
  •        Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •        Strong public speaking skills
  •        Ability to develop, plan and present effective multimedia presentations.
  •        Ability to teach, instruct, and conduct training sessions
  •        Ability to organize time, projects and details
  •        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  •        High level of reliability and responsibility
  •        Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet defined deadlines
  •        Must be flexible, committed, energetic, and receptive to change
  •        Ability to imbue a mindset of customer service, quality and efficiency

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Cooperate and collaborate with IDLA staff, administration, and Idaho school districts, which include but are not limited to the following:
  •        Responsible to insure and monitor implementation of IDLA programs and services in a region.       Responsible for increasing the awareness of IDLA programs, activities, and accomplishments.
  •        Responsible for developing positive relationships with area schools, counselors, parents, students, teachers, administrators.
  •        Provide leadership in data driven decision making for key student populations and coordinate instructional, local and regional support efforts.
  •        Represent IDLA and communicate program information and successes to the community it serves.
  •        Communication and monitor professional development opportunities for site coordinators including face-to-face, online, and webinar opportunities to increase district implementation efforts.
  •        Establish and advance quality relationships via phone, email, and in-person contact to build rapport with various stakeholders.
  •        Conduct informative sessions with prospective students, parents, high school/college personnel, and other interested individuals or groups.
  •        Coordinate program planning efforts with IDLA staff and facilitate the program planning process.
  •        Maintain an understanding of current online education ideas, trends, and practices pertaining to the areas of responsibility for this position.
  •        Keep the IDLA Directors informed about current critical issues and the status of areas under his/her control.
  •        Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, schedules, coordination resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner.
  •        Support schools and programs in their implementation of blended  and online learning models.
  •        Connect with statewide entities that are pursuing and/or utilizing blended and online learning opportunities and develop strategic relationships with these groups, and also with the Idaho Dept. of Education, to ensure successful blended learning deployments
  •        Develop strategic implementation plans for new blended learning schools/programs
