RANGE OF PAY: Based on experience and education
WORK HOURS: 205 Days (8 hrs per day)
CLASSIFICATION: Administrator (Benefits aligned with other certificated staff members)
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with the coordination of special services within the school system; works with appropriate personnel to provide assistance to students with special needs; monitors district compliance of Federal and State rules and regulations; coordinates and leads district teams through the process of establishing and maintaining the implementation of school-wide positive behavior support systems.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: IL Type 10 certification with LBSI endorsement OR Type 73 social worker certification; Master’s Degree, with up to four years experience working in a special education environment. IL Type 75 General Administrative certification preferred. The ideal candidate should possess a proven background in the area of leadership, and extensive knowledge of the pre-referral process and the reauthorized Individuals With Disabilities Education Act; Previous experience and training with school-wide PBIS, school improvement, and learner diversity; Experience developing, coordinating and facilitating staff development activities. The candidate should employ the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of persons including staff members, parents and students, and should have a keen awareness of services available to the special needs population outside the school setting.
