          The Council Bluffs Community School District is seeking applicants for the following teaching position for the 2012-2013 school year:

KINDERGARTEN  TEACHER

Carter Lake Elementary School

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

·        Iowa teaching license in Elementary Education

·        Endorsement in Early Childhood preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

·        Experience with developmentally appropriate programs

·        Understanding of the developmental nature of young learners

·        Patience, enthusiasm and flexibility to meet diverse needs of children

·        Knowledge of the acquisition and development of language

·        Evidence of positive and effective classroom management strategies

·        Familiarity with formal and informal assessment strategies

·        Ability to involve parents in the educational process

·        Ability to work cooperatively with other staff in a team setting

·        Knowledge of construction and classroom management of learning centers

·        Professional training and/or experience in High-Scope Curriculum

·        Skill in interpersonal relationships

·        Ability to work with special needs students to team with special education staff
