Sign Language Interpreter, D/HH

The Wichita Public Schools Department of Student Support Services is seeking a fully qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreter who possess a level 3.0 or above on the EIPA and/or KQAS certification and;

 

µ   Registered with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing as an Interpreter,

µ   Knowledge and application of the Code of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics for Interpreters,

µ   Demonstrate control abilities in high/low demand settings,

µ   Have graduated from an Accredited Interpreter Training Program with an Associates of Applied Science Degree or have an ITP Certificate of Completion and/or a Bachelors degree,

µ   Must be able to accommodate student's modality or language [WPS D/HH Spectrum of Interpreting Services model],

µ   Competency in the production of spoken and written English as well as understanding receptive and expressive ASL and MCE,
