Qualifications:

 

Required: 

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License or eligible for Colorado Teaching License
  • Secondary Social Studies Endorsement

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with high school students
  • Strong coursework in writing
  • Computer literate
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-age grouping as well as developing individualized educational plans
  • Willingness to participate in co-curricular/extracurricular activities
  • Knowledge of and willingness to incorporate authentic assessments, team and interdisciplinary teaching, cooperative learning, and technology in classroom (computer literate)
  • Strong belief in a rigorous and relevant high school curriculum
  • Experience or coursework in multi-cultural awareness
  • Strong but dignified classroom management skills
  • Strong commitment to system change
  • Strong evidence of being a "team-player"
  • Ability to teach AP/Honors level of instruction
  • Willingness to teach student council
