JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Multicultural Outreach, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of a comprehensive community engagement process to promote and increase parental and community involvement that ultimately strengthens support for students and schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Develop a district-wide community engagement strategic plan with metrics.
*Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with departments to develop and manage an overall community engagement project schedule and timeline of meetings.
*Serve as a liaison to key constituents, district bodies and community groups.
*Assist in ongoing relationship management with parents and community members and key stakeholders.
*Responsible for publicity, marketing and dissemination of meetings.
*Develop meeting agendas and master presentations for a variety of audiences.
*Manage the development and delivery of supplemental materials when other departments or individuals are the primary owner(s).
*Fulfill logistical requirements for meetings, including, but not limited to: pre-meeting communication; submission of materials for translation; scheduling interpretation services for meetings; management of registration table; booking of facilities, coordinating catering, arranging child care; securing printing and delivery of final materials for meeting; participating in meetings; and providing on-site meeting support as needed.
*Provide regular status updates of projects to executive sponsors and management including scope, time, cost and quality.
*Develop summary meeting reports to be used for communication purposes and reports out to the community.
*Ensure follow-up on outputs from meetings (questions answered, FAQ’s, data requests).
*Manage the web site for each project (set-up, maintenance, updates, uploading documents, etc.).
*Identify, track and resolve issues and risks associated with projects managed and communicate risks.
*Provide additional skill capacity to the Office of Public Relations and Multicultural Outreach in areas such as social media, article/story development, graphic design and photography to ensure a diverse skill set and cross-training capacity to support bond program related communications projects and needs.
*Participate in engagement activities when they are most conducive to the target audience including nights and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of professional community engagement experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment.

*Knowledge of crisis management techniques and strategies to keep people appropriately informed while managing the release of information during emergency situations.

*Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
*At least three (3) years history of success in delivering projects.
*Experience in effectively resolving conflicts.

*High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

*Experience and proficiency with current technology including Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
*Valid driver’s license
*Prefer fluency in more than one language, preferably English and Spanish (not required).
DUTY DAYS: 260 Days
SALARY: CP4: $48,665 - $60,832
Salary determination will be based on documented experience.
