High School English Language Arts Teacher
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Detroit
Community Schools is seeking a dynamic, energetic High School English Language Arts Teacher who maintains a positive
learning environment effectively holds high academic expectations, creates a
student centered classroom while building rapport with students, parents, and
staff.
We are seeking professional
educators who want to answer the call to innovate, collaborate, and transform public education in
the city of Detroit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid
Michigan teaching certificate – High School Endorsement (BX)
• Must meet
NCLB certification requirements
• Ability to
relate positively with students, teachers and parents
• Ability to
work with other professionals in a collaborative manner
• High level of interpersonal skills to communicate verbally and in
writing
SALARY and
CONTRACT:
Detroit
Community Schools will provide a competitive compensation package that includes
Merit Pay up to 15% of the base salary, financial incentive tied into teacher
attendance, as well as reduced college tuition costs.
