SUMMARY: Provides
educationally relevant physical therapy to identified students. The physical therapist works with students
and team members to enable the student to benefit from his/her special
education program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Direct or consultative services to identified
students.
Evaluate and assess students.
Liaison with school personnel, family, physician and
agencies through written and or oral communication.
Plan to meet individual student’s and program needs.
Attend and participate in team meetings and
conferences.
Make equipment recommendation, adaptation, and repair
of equipment.
Establish and maintain appropriate records, reports
and procedures.
Travel to meet job requirements.
Set up, maintain and clean treatment areas and P.T.
equipment.
Maintain regular attendance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise students.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from an approved school of physical therapy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
License from the state to practice PT.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to
write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as
probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a
variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety
of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and
theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on
division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom
assigned. Ability to establish and
maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and
community; ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral
communication.
