Position Title: Teacher on Special Assignment (Co-teaching/Differentiated Instruction/Culture Competence)
(Full-time Equivalency: 1.0) - (Anticipated Vacancy)
Brief Description: The job of the Teacher on Special Assignment is to build the intellectual capacity of school staffs to meet the learning needs of all students through implementation of the District’s three levers: (1.) Teaching and Learning Framework; (2.) Professional Learning Community; and (3.) Human Capital. The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) provides job-embedded and ongoing professional development, reflection and learning for teachers. TOSAs provide support to principals and teacher leaders as they work with the Professional Learning Community model to analyze student work and data, and plan formative professional development. TOSAs also provide professional development and guidance for teachers to enhance their content knowledge and instructional strategies informed by the Ithaca City School District Teaching and Learning Framework.
