Description:
WORK DAY/YEAR: 6.5 hours per day; Approximately 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
CLASSIFICATION: B-2-1;

SALARY: minimum $13.32 per hour

 

Two positions available

Job Summary:

*Assist student with special needs under the direction of the teacher. *May assist student with personal care; i.e. feeding and toileting. *May assist student with special needs which may include lifting, adaptive equipment, or monitoring transportation. *Performs tasks within the level of responsibility of position as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications: *Preferred: 48 college semester credits or a two-year degree or completion of the Para Pro test. Please include transcript(s) with application. *Ability to assist DCD-SP students with curriculum. *Experience with behavior management strategies. *Positive rapport with children including the ability to correct inappropriate student behavior with fairness and consistency. *Capable of responding to occasional physical behavior. *Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member. *Good organizational skills. *Regular, on-time attendance is required. *Physical requirement: must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Stooping and bending required.
