Food Service Worker

Hours: 9:35 AM - 1:20 PM

 

Location: Fitch High School-Due to realignment

 

Summary: The Food Service worker performs the operations necessary to prepare breakfast and lunch for students.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:              (Includes some or all of the following depending upon assignment)

 

·         Prepares and maintains daily and monthly records, inventories, bills, and reports deficiencies of any product and/or supplies.

·         Participates in the preparation of meals including menus, ordering food, and supplies, necessary equipment, preparation, serving, and clean-up.

·         Immediately reports any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria area to Food Service Secretary and/or administrator.

·         Follow all federal, state, and local health regulations and guidelines.

·         Follows approved menus and standardized recipes from Cafeteria Manager for preparing food.

·         May be designated to act as Food Service Manager.

·         Responsible for daily revenues including depositing and recording of all monies.

·         Attend in-service and training as required.

·         Must be able to use a computer: Lunch Box Program Point of Service.

·         Perform all other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

·         Ability to lift and move heavy items and equipment.

·         Excellent organizational skills.

·         Prior experience as a food service employee.

·         Knowledge of state and federal nutritional regulations.

·         Possess basic academic skills.

·         Good character, courtesy, efficiency, cleanliness and commitment to the welfare of the students.

·         Favorable BCII/FBI checks.

 

Reports to:

Supervisor, and/or Building administrator, Superintendent or designee.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation to classified personnel.

 

*As per the OAPSE Negotiated Agreement, EXHIBITS - Food Service Regulations:

K. With the exception of food service employees already holding double contracts prior to July 1, 2002 no employee may accept a food service contract as a second or multiple contract as of July 1, 2002.

L.  After July 1, 2002 food service employees cannot accept assignments that interfere with each employee's contracted hours or building's cafeteria  working hours.

Employees are to complete all information requested on the Classified Bid Sheet and return sheets to the Board of Education Office no later than 2:30 PM, June 15, 2012. Bid sheets may be obtained in the building main offices, with cafeteria managers, head custodians or at the Board of Education Office.
