Team Leader Job Description
All Distinctive Schools Leaders
provide positive leadership to team by modeling professional, moral, and
ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions. In addition, the team leader creates an
atmosphere of cooperation and understanding amongst team members and works
collaboratively with all stakeholders to support diversity and promote student
achievement.
Team Leader Roles:

Serve as a mentor
and instructional coach to the team.
·
Serve as a
positive contributor to the overall well-being of the school culture and
climate.
·
Play an
instrumental role in creating a school culture in which all students can
achieve success.
·
Act as a liaison
between the team members, the building administration, and central office staff.
Team Leader
Responsibilities:
·
Research
effective instructional strategies and model lessons that demonstrate best
instructional practices.
·
Conduct coaching
observations and provide constructive feedback in order to promote best
practices in instruction.
·
Plan and
facilitate weekly grade level meetings to discuss student achievement and lead
teachers in analysis of data.
·
Plan and lead
professional development sessions that incorporate Common Core Standards,
Illinois Learning Standards, and instructional best practices.
·
Guide and support
teachers with the RTI process to ensure all students’ needs are met.
·
Participate in
RTI meetings to analyze data and track student achievement.
·
Serve on various
leadership committees, as requested by building administrator, and perform
related duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the
school/system policies and practices.
·
Plan and schedule
class field trips.
·
Ensure that all
team members adhere to professional responsibilities.
·
Order and
disperse curriculum resources and supplies.
·
Ensure that all
staff members appropriately follow the behavior/referral process.
·
Assume the
Director’s responsibilities in the event of his/her absence.
·
Communicate with
parents as needed.
Job Summary: Primary Team Leader working with teachers in grades K-2.
Qualifications: Certified Teacher with at least 3 years teaching experience, additional experience with leadership/coaching/mentoring positions in educational setting
